Job description, responsibilities and duties:

As a Production Planner, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating and optimizing manufacturing processes within the mechanical engineering company. This position involves collaborating with various departments to ensure efficient production schedules, timely delivery of products, and cost-effective utilization of resources.

Your responsibilities:

- Production scheduling based on customer orders, inventory levels, and resource availability. 

- Cooperation with procurement and inventory management teams to forecast material requirements and ensure timely availability of raw materials and components for production.

- Analyze production capacity and capabilities to balance workload and optimize resource utilization. 

- Monitor inventory levels of finished goods and raw materials to prevent stockouts or excess inventory.

- Work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, procurement, and quality assurance to align production plans with overall business objectives.

- Identify opportunities for process optimization, waste reduction, and cost savings within the production process. Implement Lean or Six Sigma principles to streamline workflows and improve productivity.

- Maintain accurate records of production schedules, material requirements, and inventory levels. Generate regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, production efficiency, and inventory turnover.

- Anticipate and mitigate potential risks that may impact production schedules or quality standards. Develop contingency plans to address unforeseen events or disruptions in the supply chain.
