The FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) Manager with responsibility for managing and coordinating the FMEA process to ensure high-quality standards in product development and production. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality, production, and project management, to identify potential failure modes, assess risks, and implement preventive measures.
Lead FMEA Activities:
- Coordinate and facilitate FMEA sessions with cross-functional teams to identify and evaluate potential failure modes and their effects on product quality and safety.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct thorough risk assessments to prioritize issues based on severity, occurrence, and detection. Collaborate with teams to develop action plans for reducing or eliminating high-risk failure modes.
- Documentation and Updates: Maintain and update FMEA documents throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring they reflect the current status and any design or process changes.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within the FMEA process, implementing best practices and industry standards to enhance reliability and efficiency.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to team members on FMEA methodology, tools, and procedures, fostering a culture of proactive quality management.
- Compliance and Standards: Ensure all FMEA activities comply with automotive industry standards (such as IATF 16949) and customer-specific requirements.
